What Christmas Means to innov8 | Our Holiday Giving Initiatives

Written by innov8 | Nov 21, 2019 10:00:00 PM

When you think of Christmas your mind probably conjures up images of decorated trees, warm fireplaces, and gatherings of family and friends. This is Joy. This is Cheer. This is Christmas.

But Christmas is also about giving.

Giving to those less fortunate than ourselves. Giving to those who don’t have anyone else to give to them. Giving to those who are struggling.

Christmas can be a tough time of the year for families with sick children. While many children are building snowmen in the chilly December air, decorating a tree with their family, and making lists of gifts they would like to receive, other children won’t take a step outside of a hospital room this Holiday Season. They won’t experience the feeling of snow falling on their rosy cheeks, or placing the star at the top of the tree. And the number one item on their Christmas list is just to get well.

Christmas is all about seeing the eyes of a child light up, especially those that are struggling with illness. This is why innov8 Digital Solutions has chosen BC Children’s Hospital as our charity for the 2019 Holiday Season.

BC Children’s Hospital provides care for the most seriously ill or injured children and is the only hospital in the province devoted exclusively to children—93000 of whom visit the hospital for specialized pediatric services each year. Last fiscal year, $66.6 million was donated from the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation to the hospital, Research Institute, child and adolescent mental health programs, and Sunny Hill Health Centre, helping to ensure children across BC continue to receive the best health care possible.

What is innov8 doing to support BC Children’s Hospital?

innov8 Digital Solutions is passionate about supporting the communities and families that support us, and this year we have two Holiday campaigns to help raise as much money as possible for the BC Children’s Hospital.

1. Donate 4% of Office Equipment Sales*

Between November 20th and December 31st, innov8 will donate 4% of every Printer & and MFP, Wide-Format Printer and Scanner sale to the BC Children's Hospital* to help provide additional care for needy families.

What can you do to show your support:

If you’ve been considering upgrading your office equipment but you’re not sure if now is the right time to do so, remember that between November 20th and Dec 31st, 2019, innov8 will donate 4% of the price to the BC Children’s Hospital!* We have a free Office Assessment to provide you with recommendations for updates that will save you money in hard costs and lost productivity, based on your current printer, scanner, and copier usage.

3. Festival of Trees Event with Special Appearance by Elsa

innov8 has decked out and sponsored a Christmas tree for the Festival of Trees! The event—a cherished community tradition which has become the unofficial kick-off to the holiday season in Victoria for the last 27 consecutive years—runs from November 21st to January 6th at The Bay Centre

Queen Elsa, star of the film Frozen, will be at the festival on December 14th from 12:00 - 3:00 PM PST. For a minimum donation of $5, you (or your child!) can have a picture taken with her. All proceeds will be going to the BC Children’s Hospital.

Afterwards, she'll be paying a special visit to the BC Children’s Hospital to meet some of the children and hand out teddy bears.

Contact us if you would like to support our visit to the BC Children's Hospital.
